Password Protect Your PDF File with PDF Reader Pro Mac

PDF files are the most commonly used media for sharing portable documents either via email or web. This convenience makes the popularity of PDF skyrocket from time to time. Despite the advantage that it can be shared with any audience regardless of their location or devices, PDF has a weakness point. Security can be an issue if you are working with sensitive documents. Confidential documents that you share with your co-workers or employees could possibly leak to other parties if you're not careful. This risk can be reduced by adding password protection to your PDF.

PDF Reader Pro Mac provides two types of passwords that you can apply namely Open Password and Owner Password. You can apply these two passwords according to your needs. When you apply Open Password, anyone who opens the PDF must type in the password you specified. But once the file is opened, Open Password will not limit the readers from copying, editing, or printing the documents.

Owner Password has a significant difference with the Open Password. Owner Password restricts the reader to copy, edit, or print the document. When an owner password is set, you can’t modify the content except for reading.

If you use both Open and Owner passwords, it will definitely add more layers of security to your documents. You can decide which password you want to share to each person, and the password they enter will decide whether they can copy, print, or edit the document. Open Password will only allow them to view the documents while Owner Password will allow them to have full control over the document.
